Winnipeg has once again been declared the murder and violent crime capital of Canada. This means we are also the victim capital of Canada. And even though many may not have experienced crime first-hand, we all feel the aftershocks every time we hear of another murder or another attack and wish things would be different – better.

Three mothers have been invited to address this issue.

They belong to an exclusive group called Parents of Murdered Children, a group they would never have voluntarily joined, but a group they needed so they could find and share comfort, help, support and resources.

One is an articulate activist and artist, the other a communication consultant, and the third a writer. They have many different ideas and views on issues but still enjoy a unique friendship.

The common bond that brings them together is the murder of their daughters which also gives each of them a unique perspective on the Canadian Justice System and what is needed to make the world a safer place.

“We have fabulous conversations,” they say. They are welcoming the rest of the world to come and listen to these conversations for one day only – March 21.
